RCN, a leading provider of video, data, and voice services to residential, small business and commercial customers, announced today the signing of a multi-year contract with the Lincolnshire-based development firm, ECD Company, to provide Digital Cable TV and High Definition (HDTV) services to guest rooms at theWit, a newly constructed four star hotel located at the corner of State and Lake Streets in Chicago. RCN will deliver Digital Cable TV and High-Definition Television services (HDTV) to the facility’s 298 guest rooms.

Fully one-third of leisure travelers embarked on a last minute trip last year, according to the 2008 Ypartnership/Yankelovich National Leisure Travel MONITOR, revealing a sizable necessity for impulse vacations by today’s traveling public. The newly released data also defines the average time frame of advanced planning for a last minute booking. On average, travelers planned late-breaking trips just 15 days in advance of their departure.
