IDB approves $140 million loan to replace Railways signalling system
The Islamic Development Bank (IDB), based at Jeddah, has consented to provide loan of $140 million to replace the decades-old and obsolete signalling system of Pakistan Railways. Under the agreement, the Bank would finance procurement, installation, and commissioning of the equipment to establish modern computerised signalling system, including training, project supervision, consultant and corresponding project contingency.
