There are many wineries that are open for tasting — look for the ‘degustation’ sign outside. In Beaune there are some places set up specifically so you can taste a range of different wines from the region – I went to Marche aux Vins which is in an atmospheric cellar. I also enjoyed a tasting at Pere Patriarche, who market a range of wines including a major selling sparkler called Kriter.
