A new site launched on January 1st that looks to be a contender for our attention for relevant local news. The site is LocalSpur.com, and calls itself the Internet’s city guide. They are currently in beta with around 200 cities live across the country. I tried out my local city of Lubbock, TX and was pleased to find breaking news, sports news and local videos and tweets from around the city, all in real time.
I know that the local news space is crowded, however it looks like LocalSpur might be a good option for staying up to date on what’s happening in your city.
